The update is rolled out in waves, so it will take some time

OnePlus has been very diligent in releasing software updates for its OnePlus 2 flagship smartphone, and before this year ends, the Chinese company offers yet another update.

OxygenOS 2.2.0 update is not being rolled out to OnePlus 2 smartphones in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all devices.

Judging by the contents of the changelog, this isn't a major update that adds new features, but it does fix some major issues that have been reported by users.

So, the first worth noting is that OnePlus has finally addressed the dual-SIM preference selection issues in settings. This has been a common problem for OnePlus 2 devices since the release of the smartphone, so hopefully, this update might address the issue.

Next in line, OnePlus added NTFS and exFAT support for OTG (on-the-go). Also, the update should fix Google Camera photo-sphere and panorama bugs that affected the OnePlus 2 since the last update.

OnePlus 2 owners will be pleased to know that they will now be able to adjust the screen temperature from the phone's quick settings.

Furthermore, the update should add a hide search bar option in launcher settings, as well as many general bug fixes and optimizations.

Holiday wallpapers, security patches, more

In celebration of Christmas, OnePlus also included some holiday wallpapers that OnePlus 2 owners might find enjoyable.

Last but not least, some security patches have been implemented as well. These security patches might be released on a monthly basis, as other major handset makers promised for their flagship smartphones.

These are all the changes included in this update, but we have a feeling that OnePlus will release more OxygenOS updates for the OnePlus 2 next year.
