Good news for OnePlus 2 owners, as the Chinese company has just announced that OxyenOS 3.0, based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, is now available for download.

However, before flashing this version of OxygenOS on your OnePlus 2, you should know that this is a “community build,” which means there are still a few things that need to be improved and/or fixed.

According to OnePlus, this is a “daily-driver-material community release of OxygenOS 3.0” and is aimed at those who don’t mind testing the software, as well as offer their feedback on the build.

OnePlus needs a little bit of help from the community, as some aspects of the software require a larger user base around the world for feedback. There are three key areas OnePlus needs feedback on: network testing (specific carrier and region), camera improvements (both UI and picture quality), as well as performance and battery life.

New UI camera, lots of performance improvements

The Chinese company has also confirmed some of the new features and improvements that have been included in this update. For example, there’s a new OnePlus Camera UI, which allows users to change the aspect ratio and toggle grid view without going all the way to the settings.

Furthermore, there’s a new wallpaper picker that provides users with the option to easily preview and set both the home screen and lock screen wallpaper in one place.

OnePlus has confirmed that the Shelf UX has been improved, so there’s no more edit mode. The fingerprint performance has been enhanced as well, along with some other general system performance. Also, the update includes March security patches.

Aside from the improvements and new features in OxygenOS 3.0, OnePlus has also shared a list of known issues that you need to be aware of before flashing this build. You can find more details on the OnePlus' official forum.

Keep in mind that this OxygenOS 3.0 community build is OTA (over the air) eligible, so users will be able to receive future OTAs on this ROM.
