Chinese company Oppo is readying for its big launch, the OnePlus 2, which has been confirmed for unveiling on July 27.

Instead of revealing everything about the smartphone later this month and because the Chinese OM does not want to invest too much money for a marketing campaign, they have taken another approach that could work.

Each week, they would unveil a new piece of hardware that will be included in the OnePlus 2, so that customers know what to expect before the device gets official.

This is how we have previously learned that OnePlus 2 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.

The company also confirmed its flagship smartphone will boast a 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features 515ppi (pixel per inch) density.

OnePlus 2 won't cost more than $450, the company's founder promised a few weeks ago, which seems like a great deal considering the phone's high specs.

However, it looks like the smartphone might be priced a little higher when sold through retails channels other than OnePlus' invitational system.

Two OnePlus 2 models will be announced this month

Oppomart, a webstore that sells many other high-end Android smartphones made by Chinese handset makers, is now listing the OnePlus 2 for $499.

Although this could be just a placeholder for the device that should be unveiled later this month, Oppomart could have just chosen the price recommended by OnePlus' CEO, which they didn't.

Along with the price of the smartphone, some of the phone's specs have been revealed as well. Even though OnePlus has yet to announce the handset's camera, Oppomart claims the OnePlus 2 will pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper that features a Sony Exmor IMX234 sensor camera.

Still, previous rumors pointed to a 13-megapixel camera for the OnePlus 2, so it remains to be seen which camera the smartphone will come with in the end.

Oppomart also lists the smartphone as having a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, 5.7-inch Quad HD display, 4G LTE global support and “embedded” 3,3300 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

The 16-megapixel rear-facing camera will be paired with a 5-megapixel camera in the front. Oppomart also claims the smartphone will be available in two versions: 32GB and 64GB. Last but not least, the OnePlus 2 will be powered by Oxygen OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
