One of the most ambitious One Piece projects, World Seeker will be launched in Europe and North America in 2018. For the first time, Bandai Namco announced a One Piece game will feature an open-world environment that will allow players to explore freely.

Today, the Japanese publisher revealed the first trailer for the One Piece: World Seeker game and a handful of new screenshots that show the protagonist, Luffy, as he explores a mysterious island.

According to developer Ganbarion, One Piece: World Seeker is about density rather than scale, which basically means a smaller world but with lots of activities and things to explore. I'll take that any day over a huge, but hollow open-world game.

The island that players get to explore in One Piece: World Seeker is filled with cities, beaches, castles and other surprise locations. The game is seen from Luffy's perspective, so you won't get to play as one of the Straw Hat Pirates since One Piece: World Seeker solely focuses on this character.

The first One Piece: World Seeker trailer show some of Luffy's Gum-Gum abilities, but there are a few other nice surprises that haven't been revealed yet. One other thing that we've noticed is the game allows players to approach every encounter with guns blazing or stealthy.

There are no online components yet, and chances are there won't be any when the game will be launched. One Piece: World Seeker is a purely single player game the focuses on exploration above all else.

The game isn't playable yet, which suggests that it might not be launched in the first part of the next year. Even though One Piece: World Seeker doesn't have an exact release date for the moment, we do know that it will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
