Microsoft publishes new ISOs for the Creators Update

Windows 10 Creators Update is now available via Windows Update Assistant for those who want to perform the upgrade manually and not wait until it shows up on Windows Update on April 11, but it looks like Microsoft has also published the official ISOs for clean-installing the new OS version.

There are 3 new ISOs published by Microsoft for Windows 10, Windows 10 N, and Windows 10 Single, and as you can see in the screenshot below, you can get both the Home and the Pro versions.

These ISO images come in handy to users who want to perform a clean install on their PCs and start from scratch, and this should be helpful mostly when trying to avoid issues caused by the upgrade. Many users are hitting app compatibility bugs or OS issues after completing the upgrade, and many of them can be simply fixed by installing the operating system from scratch.

This is the reason a refresh or reset is often recommended, especially because it restores the default OS settings and removes any possible issues caused by the upgrade.

How to download the ISOs

Microsoft published the new ISOs here, but you need to use a trick to see them on your system. If you already run Windows, loading this link leads you to alternative download options, such as the Media Creation Tool (which also downloads the ISOs), so you won’t see the download links for the official ISOs.

Instead, you need to access the link either from a non-Windows computer or by simply changing the user agent in your browser to force the website detect your operating system as non-Windows.

To do this in Microsoft Edge, launch the browser, head over to the ISO download page, press F12 to access the developer options, go to the Emulation tab and in the Mode section change the User agent string to a non-Windows browser. We switched to Apple Safari (iPad) and the download links showed up correctly.
