Honor 9 was initially expected to arrive on June 20-21, but a poster that leaked last week revealed that the unveil date was set a bit earlier, on June 12. Now it seems that Honor has officially confirmed the unveil date for next week, on June 12.

The poster surfaced in a report, but it doesn’t reveal the actual design of the new smartphone. Still, it hints at the dual-camera setup on the new phone with the two circles next to the number 9 on the poster.

The poster is in black and white, hinting towards the dedicated monochrome sensor which could be part of the dual-camera setup. The smartphone already received a number of certifications, including from TENAA.

Honor 9 will arrive in Europe at the end of June

It seems that Honor has already started sending out press invites for an announcement event set for June 27 in Berlin. Honor 9 is expected to come with a 5.15-inch FHD display and run Kirin 960 SoC. The smartphone could come with 4GB of RAM inside, while its internal storage capacity could reach 64GB. In addition, it’s expected to come with a 3,100mAh battery to keep its lights on for a reasonable amount of time.

The dual-camera setup will feature a 20MP sensor and a 12MP lens, while the selfie snapper might be an 8MP camera. By comparison, the Honor 8 came with a 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and featured a 3,000mAh battery. The phone ran an octa-core Kirin 950 SoC, and Honor intends to upgrade the processor in this year’s model.

The phone was made available in two variants with different internal storage capacities and this year’s model is expected to come in multiple color options, including white, black, blue, and gold. It could also feature Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top of the display and expandable internal memory.
