Use it if you want to disable Windows 10 data collection

Microsoft surely didn't see this coming, but the moment it rolled out Windows 10 on July 29, users started complaining about the tracking services that were enabled by default in the operating system and which could collect information about everything they were doing.

It was just a matter of time until applications capable of disabling all these services reached the market and O&O ShutUp10 is one of the easiest to use, especially because it comes with a clean UI and very intuitive features.

Today, the app received a new update, so version number has been bumped to 1.0.1343, which is a sign that many of the bugs that you previously encountered when using it should no longer be there.

Disable background services too

O&O ShutUp10 can prevent Windows 10 from collecting information about your activity on a Windows 10 PC and although there are settings that can help disable tracking, this little application does a lot more than that.

There were complains that Windows 10 phones home even if you disable these features in the privacy settings menu, so O&O ShutUp10 can take care of everything by turning off not only these visible options, but also services that might be running in the background with the sole purpose of collecting your data.

Of course, Microsoft doesn't recommend anyone to use such apps, so you do it at your own risk. But as always, you can create a backup to make sure you're on the safe side. A restore point created with the built-in Windows tools should be enough.

All in all, it's pretty clear that such apps are becoming more and more popular these days, especially because Microsoft doesn't talk too much about the changes it made to the operating system, so go ahead and download O&O ShutUp10 if privacy is one of your main concerns in Windows 10.
