Windows 10 comes with a brand new browser, but it’s no surprise that Edge isn’t everyone’s cup of tea for the moment, especially because it still lacks key functionality, such as support for extensions.

But while Microsoft needs more time to release Edge improvements, other browser makers out there keep updating their apps with new features and bug fixes supposed to enhance functionality on supported platforms, including Windows 10.

Opera is the living example, as a new version released today brings a few UI and stability fixes targeting Mac, Linux, and Windows, both 10 and 8.1.

What’s new in version 33.0.1990.58

The new version, labeled as 33.0.1990.58, comes with a patch specifically designed to fix UI problems on Windows 10, with Opera saying that it provides “a fixup for the Windows 10 native controls, which should now look correctly.” So in case you’ve spotted any glitches impacting Opera browser, it was most likely because of the new theme in Windows 10 and they should now be fixed.

Additionally, Windows 8 and up users should see a slightly improved tile icon, which is clearly a handy revision for those who find the live tiles available in modern Windows a key feature of the operating system. Additionally, icons and text labels are now aligned with the background, and the browser back key should no longer navigate two entries back instead of one.

Aside from Windows 10 updates, there are also changes aimed at other platforms. For instance, version 33.0.1990.58 includes crash fixes for Mac systems, as Opera discovered that in some cases, the browser crashes when closing tabs in full screen mode.

As usual, the latest versions of the browser are already here on Softpedia, so just go ahead and download Opera for Windows, Linux, or Mac to get all the aforementioned improvements on your PC too.
