The Mobile World Congress is one of the year’s most anticipated tech shows, but many companies choose to get a headstart and announce new devices during the days preceding the event. Nokia is one of those companies.

MWC 2017 is set to start on February 27 in Barcelona, but Nokia will make some announcements one day before that. On its Facebook account, Nokia has revealed that the Nokia 6 is coming to China and “more announcements” will follow on February 26.

Although the company didn’t specifically say that more Android phones would be revealed, considering the importance of MWC, we can expect some new smartphones to be announced. In addition, Nokia 6 is rather a mid-range device, an appealing new handset, but clearly not enough to bring back the company’s lost fans.

Six to seven Nokia phones might arrive this year

HDM Global, the company that owns the Nokia brand, has announced its intentions to release 6 to 7 new phones this year. The MWC is the perfect place to unveil a new flagship, as all eyes will be on the companies that will make announcements there, but we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

Nokia 6 was announced a few days ago and the smartphone carries a price tag of about $245. It will be exclusive at China’s JD.com, but there’s a possibility that it will launch internationally. NokiaPowerUser found the Nokia 6 (TA-1003) model in a Tenna listing, which means that the phone might arrive internationally.

Nokia 6 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The phone has a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. Although it’s a mid-ranger, Nokia 6 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and has a 5.5-inch full HD display. It draws power from a 3,000mAh battery.
