HMD Global’s Nokia 9 flagship smartphone has just been spotted on Geekbench and some of the phone’s specs were confirmed in the process. The benchmark listing confirms that Nokia 9 will run the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform, found in other flagships on the market, including the Galaxy S8 and HTC U11.

Aside from the latest chipset, Nokia 9 also appears to come with 8GB of RAM, double compared to the Galaxy S8 or other flagships. Not many smartphone makers equip their phones with such a high RAM capacity, but it seems that HMD wants the Nokia 9 to really stand out.

The benchmark listing reveals the codename Unknown Heart for the Nokia 9, while also showing that the phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Still, HMD must make some optimizations on the testing unit, seeing how it only recorded a 615 score during the single-core test and 1116 during the multi-core one.

Dual-camera setup on the back with 13MP sensors

Recent reports revealed that Nokia 9 should come with a 5.3-inch QHD display and 64GB of internal storage. The display will feature 557 dpi and 530 nits maximum brightness. Another appealing feature on the new phone will be the dual-camera setup on the back with two 13MP sensors. Still, some rumors have said that Nokia 9 might actually feature just 4GB of RAM, so perhaps HMD is testing several configurations and prototypes of the Nokia 9.

Nokia 9 will also bring an Always-On display feature, very similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 tool which shows the clock and recent notifications on the screen. The upcoming smartphone is said to come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a front home button which should include a fingerprint scanner.

A USB Type-C port should also be featured on the new phone. In terms of pricing, rumors say that Nokia 9 could cost about $750, which makes it rather unlikely for the device to actually come with 8GB of RAM, as the price would be quite low for such a configuration.
