HMD Global is rumored to launch two new flagship Android-powered smartphones this year, the Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9, after the company's unveiling of the Nokia 8 Sirocco and three other phones at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2018.

Nokia Power User website reports that HMD Global is prepping two flagship devices, both powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 processor, the Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9 2018. The smartphones are expected to arrive as soon as this year and will come with the in-display fingerprint sensor and other new mobile technologies.

The report claims that the Nokia 9 flagship will have the best-in-class camera and design, a generous 5.7-inch display, as well as breakthrough innovative features. On the other hand, the Nokia 8 Pro is rumored to have the Penta-Lens camera module with Zeiss rotating zoom camera function, and a smaller, 5.5-inch display.

Nokia 9's design rumored to have 3D glass back and front

In terms of design, the report claims Nokia 9's design will feature 3D glass on the back and front, and Nokia 8 Pro features double-glass on both the back and front. Unfortunately, only Nokia 9 is sporting in-display fingerprint scanner as the Nokia 8 Pro will have a back-mounted fingerprint sensor, right under the camera module.

As far as the price of these two rumored flagship goes, the report only says that you should expect to pay as much as you'd pay for Samsung's recently released Galaxy S9 line-up. As expected, the Nokia 9 flagship will be considerably more expensive than the Nokia 8 Pro. Both devices should arrive around August/September 2018.

Most probably they'll be powered by Google's latest Android 8 Oreo mobile operating system, but should be upgradable to Android 9, which the search giant will launch in the same timeframe. To please Nokia fans, HMD Global also brought back the so-called Nokia banana phone from the ground-breaking blockbuster The Matrix.
