HMD Global has recently stated that a new batch of phones will be announced by the end of Q2 this year, and Nokia 8 will surely be among them. A set of Nokia 8 sketches recently leaked and Concept Creator used them to give us an idea of what the device could look like.

The Nokia 8 featured in the video appears to come with a vertical dual-camera setup positioned on the back, together with dual-LED flash and a front physical button that should incorporate the fingerprint sensor. Aside from this, the phone appears to have very thin bezels and a metal frame. The rear camera seems to slightly protrude from the back panel.

The power button and volume rockers are placed on the right side of the smartphone, while the phone’s SIM card tray is located on the left. Nokia 8’s sides are slightly curved, similar to Nokia 9, which was also revealed in renders recently. The corners seem to be squared-off, similar to what we’ve seen in Nokia 9 renders.

Nokia 8 could have a dedicated camera key on the side

The USB Type-C port is located at the bottom of the smartphone, while the device comes with a loudspeaker and a dedicated camera key on the side to make it easier to snap pictures. Nokia 8 is expected to feature lower specs compared to the company’s Nokia 9 flagship, but few details are known about the phone.

On the other side, we expect Nokia 9 to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform, a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and 6GB of RAM, together with 128GB of internal storage. The dual-camera setup on the back could have a 22.1MP sensor, while the front camera capacity may reach 12MP.

Nokia 9 is said to draw power from a 3,800mAh battery and feature IP68 certification to attest that its internals are protected from water and dust damages. Android 7.1 Nougat is expected to run on both Nokia 8 and Nokia 9.
