Could it be that we now have a new contender to the crown?

There's no doubt that Nokia 6 is a mid-range smartphone, but that doesn't mean that it can't go head to head with some of the high-end devices that are available on the market. After all, the only downside of the Nokia 6 is the rather low-power Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset.

Just like many high-end smartphones, the Nokia 6 packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). The large 5.5-inch display supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The good news is the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera seems to be better than the units installed on at least a couple of the flagships launched last year. Nokia 6's main camera doesn't feature OIS (optical image stabilization), but it does come with a 1-pixel size, dual-LED flash, PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and full HD (1080p@30fps) video recording.

We reported a few days ago about the first camera samples taken with the Nokia 6 and noticed how good they were, even though this is a smartphone that costs less than $250.

But how good Nokia 6's camera really is when put against other flagships' cameras? Well, it appears that someone has decided to compare the OnePlus 3T's camera with Nokia 6's, and the results will probably surprise many.

While both phones come with 16-megapixel rear-facing cameras, the OnePlus 3T's camera features OIS (optical image stabilization), 1/12-pixel size, PDAF, LED flash, and 4K video recording.

Despite having so many advanced features, in many instances, Nokia 6's camera shoots better pictures than the OnePlus 3T, a smartphone that's been released only a few months ago.

It's pretty clear that Nokia really did a great job with the smartphone's camera, which is another reason to buy it when it goes on sale globally (if it does).

Hopefully, the upcoming Nokia 8 flagship that's expected to be unveiled next month at MWC 2017 will offer even better camera features. Check out the video above and let us know what you think in the comments.
