Last week, we reported that HMD Global had plans to introduce a number of Nokia-branded smartphones during MWC 2017. But Nokia fans are surely most excited about the return of Nokia’s 3310 iconic phone.

Now it seems that specs and some design details about the upcoming smartphone have leaked out, according to GizmoChina. The report reveals that the modern version of Nokia 3310 will be a feature phone, which will continue to have some key characteristics that made the phone so popular.

Another sign of this is the fact that the modern version’s rumored price is $63 (€59), so fans shouldn’t expect groundbreaking innovation, but rather a modern version for nostalgic fans.

More color variants and larger display

The leak suggests that the new version of Nokia 3310 will retain roughly the same design as the initial model which was launched 17 years ago. This would mean that the physical keyboard could still be there, we’re curious if in the same form.

The company will bring some changes to the phone’s weight and thickness. Apparently, HMD Global intends to make the phone slimmer and lighter, which wouldn’t be surprising considering that phone components have considerably shrunk in size over the years.

Moving on, the modern Nokia 3310 is said to feature a better and larger display. The original Nokia 3310 had an 84x84 monochromatic display and the new model will be larger and with colors. Seeing how the screen size is still small compared to other phones, battery life should continue to be one of the main highlights of the new phone.

Last but not least, HMD Global intends to bring more color variants to the modern Nokia 3310, aside from the grey, black, blue and ash options for the initial model. The modern Nokia 3310 will be made available in red, green and yellow colors as well.

The new phone is expected to be announced on February 26 in Barcelona and we hope that the modern Nokia 3310 will have the same Hulk-like powerful case.
