Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system keeps growing in terms of Steam adoption, and new data provided by Valve for the month of November shows that nobody can stop its ascension trend that began when it officially launched in July 2015.

At this point, Windows 10 is powering no less than 48.37 percent of the computers on Steam, up 0.39 percent from the previous month, but at the same time, Windows 7 also improved its share to 28.82 percent, an increase of 0.16 percent versus October.

Windows XP still alive

What’s a little bit surprising is that the 32-bit version of Windows 10 actually declined 0.12 percent to 1.23 percent, but overall, Windows 10 is still growing when analyzing the performance of both versions.

Windows 8.1 64-bit continues to be the third top operating system on Steam with a share of 8.59 percent, down 0.11 percent, while the core Windows 8 is losing ground fast and is currently at 1.19 percent. The worrying thing is that Windows XP still survives and also has a share of 1.19 percent for its 32-bit version, but this is a decline of 0.17 percent from the previous month.

Overall, Windows continues to be the top choice on Steam with a combined share of 95.40 percent, despite a small growth posted by Mac OS X, which is up 0.07 percent.

In the last few months, more and more Steam games arrived on Linux, but this still doesn’t make the open-source platform a top choice for Valve customers. At this point, Linux powers only 0.88 percent of the systems used with Steam, and this is down 0.01 percent from the previous month.

Ubuntu 16.10 64-bit is the only version that improved last month, while in the Mac world, only version 10.12.1 posted a growth of 0.95 percent. All the other Mac and Linux versions declined during the month of November.
