Microsoft will be there at the top mobile event next year

Most people believe that Microsoft is trying to get out of the mobile business, but the company reiterated its efforts to improve Windows 10 Mobile on several occasions, and now it appears that it wants to show these efforts to everyone.

The software giant will attend the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next year, and although its agenda is not very clear, this is living proof that Microsoft does not want to be left out of the mobile party.

On the other hand, it’s very important to note that there are close to zero chances to see the eagerly-anticipated Surface Phone at MWC next year, especially because the device doesn’t seem to be ready just yet. Previously, sources close to the matter said the Surface Phone could see daylight in the fall of 2017 and more recently, it was reported that Microsoft and Pegatron started trial production.

HP’s consumer Windows phone

On the other hand, Microsoft might have a lot to show at the MWC next year, especially because the show aligns with the company’s target date for the Creators Update. The next Windows 10 update will also bring significant changes to mobile devices, so Microsoft could use this occasion to introduce some of the key improvements that it included in this release.

At the same time, Microsoft could also attend the MWC to discuss Windows 10 on ARM, which is the first latest project that would bring the full version of the operating system on ARM processors.

And last but not least, there’s a good chance that Microsoft will come to the MWC in order to discuss with partners future mobile plans, and to be there for those who want to launch Windows 10 Mobile devices.

It’s believed that HP itself is planning a consumer Windows phone, and if this is the case, the MWC is clearly the best moment to launch it. Microsoft will obviously take the stage with HP officials to discuss the phone and highlight its capabilities, which would once again reiterate the company’s commitment to Windows 10 Mobile.
