As expected, Nintendo announced its first mobile game to be launched in 2017, a Fire Emblem title. The new game will be released in the App Store and Google Play Store on February 2.

Initially, the Japanese company said the game would be first launched on Android, and soon afterwards on iPhone and iPad devices.

A few hours after the official announcement went live, Nintendo confirmed on its Twitter account page that the game would actually be launched on Android and iOS devices at the same time.

Unlike Super Mario Run that's still an iOS exclusive and costs $9.99, Fire Emblem Heroes will be available for free on both the Android and iOS platforms. Obviously, it will contain in-app purchases, as every other free mobile game.

Fire Emblem Heroes, the new mobile game coming from Nintendo on February 2, is a tactical RPG strategy game where players build their armies by summoning heroes from the popular Fire Emblem universe.

The game has been especially designed for touch controls, so players shouldn't have any issues in leading their armies on the bite-sized maps that fit nicely on the smartphone's screen.

According to Nintendo, aside from the main story, players will be able to engage in other modes to improve their armies or to compete against others. On top of that, the Japanese company promised to add new characters and content for additional hours of gameplay through timely updates.

If you're interested in getting the game as soon as it hits the Google Play or App Store, then you should know that Nintendo has already launched the Fire Emblem Heroes: Choose Your Legends event.

Basically, fans can visit the game's website and browse through characters from the Fire Emblem franchise and select the ones they'd like to see in the game. The top-ranked hero and heroine will then be featured in Fire Emblem Heroes as Choose Your Legends event characters.
