Nintendo released Super Mario Run on iOS last year and the version for Android only arrived in March, with some of the same features that users can enjoy when playing on their iPhones or iPads. Now, the version for Android has received its first update with some improvements.

Super Mario Run has just received an update, bumping the version number to 2.1.0 and bringing some improvements to the user experience. Nintendo’s first update to Super Mario Run for Android-running smartphones brings more Toads, as their number now stands at 99,999.

The company also brought improvements to player icons, and “you can now display your customized Mii character from Miitomo to really show off your fashion sense,” the changelog reveals. However, it’s worth mentioning that Miitomo is required for this feature, and sadly, it’s not available in all countries and regions.

Users can find friends from their Nintendo account

Users who connect their Nintendo account can restore their progress and receive all sorts of benefits, including the new feature for finding friends using their Nintendo Account. Nintendo also added Google Play achievements in the new update, together with unspecified changes and improvements.

In-app purchases are still there, and users who wish to play the whole game will need to make a one-time purchase of $9.99. During the first month of this year, Nintendo brought the first major update to Super Mario Run on iOS and provided Easy Mode for players. The feature was included in the Android version of the game as well when it was released in the Play store last month.

The maximum number of Toads was increased in the version for iOS as well, but Nintendo also added new buildings, saying that “getting them all will a challenge for players of every skill level.” However, to unlock all buildings, users would need Toads of a certain color which can be purchased inside the game. Player icon improvements were also brought to the iOS version of the app, together with changes regarding Game Center achievements.
