14 DAY TRIAL // Nintendo promised to bring Super Mario Run to Android devices, but that won't happen until 2017. However, the Japanese company has already listed the game in the Google Play store, so Android fans can pre-register.
This isn't unusual for Nintendo, as the company did the same thing with Super Mario for iOS, which had its own page for about three months until the game got released.
If Nintendo maintains the same pattern, Super Mario Run could arrive on the Android platform as well in February/March. Until then, it's very possible that the Japanese company will run a beta program, but we suspect that only a limited number of Android users will be admitted.
That being said, it's important to understand that Nintendo won't release any beta versions of Super Mario Run until the game is launched on the market. If by any chance a beta program is announced, it will only be available through Google Play store.
But if you want to know when exactly Super Mario Run gets released in the Google Play store, you can now go ahead and pre-register on the game's page.
Just like the iOS version, Super Mario Run will require Internet connectivity in order to be played, which means data charge may apply for those who won't use Wi-Fi networks.
Nintendo hasn't yet confirmed how much the game will cost, but considering the iOS version is available for purchase for €9.99 ($9.99), we have no reason to believe the Android game will be cheaper or more expensive.
While everyone will be able to download the game for free, just a couple of levels will be available to play. In order to unlock all three modes and all levels, you will be required to pay the full price of the game.
It's also worth noting that Nintendo is unlikely to add new content to Super Mario Run, so this will be everything you'll get for the money you pay.
