14 DAY TRIAL // More details on the secret September wedding of Isabella Cruise, the daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who got divorced in 2001, are pouring in. As it turns out, Nicole had no idea the wedding was happening, even though she was in London when it did and could have attended.
Tom, on the other hand, knew about it and was “cool” with not being invited. He even footed the bill for the fancy ceremony and the guests’ stay at the Dorchester Hotel.
Nicole Kidman didn’t know but is “happy” for Bella
Word of the wedding, which took place on September 18, only got out in the media earlier this week. The ceremony was a mix between a Scientologist and a religious one, and the parents of the bride and groom weren’t invited.
Not even Bella’s brother Connor was there, because she and her new husband, IT specialist Max Parker, wanted the ceremony to include only their closest friends.
However, while Tom was brought up to speed with everything, which is the logical assumption considering he paid for the whole thing, Nicole was kept completely in the dark.
Ironically, rumor has it that she was in London at the time and could have easily attended or at least spent some time with Bella.
With all that, Nicole is happy for her daughter, a source close to the actress reveals for People Magazine.
“She is very happy for Bella,” says the spy. “She, like all mothers, wants her child to be happy, and it surely seems Bella is very happy.”
Scientology kids
Tom and Nicole adopted 2 children during their 11-year marriage, Isabella (Bella) and Connor. When the two divorced, the kids stayed with Tom and were raised as Scientologists: Cruise is the Church’s most famous face.
Usually, when a Scientologists leaves the Church, depending on their prior rank within the Church and the context of their exit, they’re dubbed Suppressive Person and are prohibited from making any kind of contact with other Church members, even if they are family or close friends.
Rumor has it that this is what happened to Nicole when she divorced Tom, which is why the kids stayed with him. She once said that she refused to discuss the Church or her relationship with the children out of respect for them, but the consensus with celebrity pundits is that she has no relationship whatsoever with them.
The fact that she wasn’t even informed her daughter was getting married would surely seem to confirm that.
