14 DAY TRIAL // The Houston-Brown family is taking legal action against Nick Gordon, claiming he abused and exploited Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston’s daughter, in an attempt to get his hands on the money her mother had left her. They also hint that he may have had something to do with the accident that put her in the deplorable condition she is in right now.
Since January 2015, when said accident occurred at Krissi’s Georgia home she shared with Gordon, he did not address claims that he might have staged it to hide the fact that, in a fit of rage in an intense fight, he tried to drown her in the bathtub. He does so now.
Nick Gordon speaks, claims innocence
TMZ obtained a recording of a conversation between Gordon and a member of Bobby Brown’s side of the family. Apparently, Gordon had no idea he was being taped, but the recording isn’t illegal, because Georgia is a 1-party state.
On it, he is heard defending himself against accusations from the family that he was responsible for what had happened to Krissi, saying she has no one to blame but herself. It’s true that he did drugs with her, but what happened in that bathroom is all on her.
“I'll tell you the honest truth, Krissy, she was under a lot of stress and we were all doing drugs and you know, all, all drinking, bro,” he says. “She just did too much man. She, listen, listen bro. I will officially stay from bath tubs forever, I'll tell you that.”
His defense is that Krissi OD’ed and fell face first in the tub, which is where he found her minutes later. He called 911 and the paramedics managed to revive her, but she had been deprived of oxygen for several minutes, which prompted the call to put her in a medically induced coma upon arrival to the hospital.
Right now, Krissi is in a hospice, where she’s living her last days. She suffered severe brain damage because of the oxygen deprivation and she’s been taken off life support and medication.
Her family is by her side, but Gordon was blocked access to her from the minute she arrived at the hospital. With all that, he’s positive she will wake up and confirm that he’s telling the truth, namely that he’s innocent.
He also says that, if the family pulls the plug on Krissi, they will be doing him the biggest injustice possible. Obviously, he knows that he’s a person of interest in the police investigation.
A history of abuse, a very convenient leak
As it happens, this “leak” comes just days after the shocking claims made in the lawsuit the family filed against him. That alone would have been enough to put him in a very negative light, but the allegations made there have also been confirmed by close friends of Krissi’s.
The narrative that emerged is that Gordon was a very violent and jealous man, made even worse by the rage he felt that Whitney had left him nothing in her will. Gordon was raised as the singer’s son, but he was never legally adopted.
He would often beat Krissi senseless, control every second of her life and threaten her with an even worse fate. He also used drugs to keep her dependent on him, so that he could exercise maximum control over her, apparently.
Given the gravity of these claims, it’s very convenient that he’s speaking out now, even indirectly so.
