He has “suffered greatly” and is “in mourning”

Nick Gordon, who remains the prime suspect in the ongoing investigation into the events on January 31, 2015, which put Bobbi Kristina Brown in a medically induced coma with severe brain damage, is speaking out after her death.

Krissi was Whitney Houston’s only child with ex-husband Bobby Brown. Nick was the boy whom Whitney took in and raised as her own but never legally adopted. They became romantically involved after the singer’s death in 2012, and it is said he pushed her into doing drugs and drinking, as a way to get easier access to her inheritance money.

Nick has “suffered greatly”

Since January this year, much has been written about Nick’s involvement in the accident that put Krissi in the coma, when she was found face-down in the bathtub of their home. None of it was favorable.

Last month, the Houston Estate filed a lawsuit against him, claiming he had been verbally and physically abusive to Krissi, and had plied her with drugs to render her more submissive.

He was barred from visiting Krissi as soon as her relatives found out about the accident and came to the hospital. In response to his claims to the press that he was her husband and had a legal right to be there, Bobby Brown issued a statement to say he and Krissi had not been legally married.

In spring, after a pathetic and exploitative interview with Dr. Phil, Gordon went to rehab. He completed treatment and continued to keep a low profile - and admittedly, refused to talk to the police.

Now that Krissi is dead and he might be charged with murder if his involvement in the accident is proved, his estranged mother has issued a statement to Us Weekly.

“The passing of Bobbi Kristina is devastating to Nick and our family,” she says. “Nick loved and cared for Krissi deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they've been apart. Nick and our family are in mourning, and we ask that you respect our privacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns during this difficult time.”

Autopsy is complete, no signs of foul play

Metro reports that an autopsy on Krissi has been completed and the results made public. They say that there was “obvious underlying cause of death or significant injuries,” but the cause of death has not been pronounced yet.

The Coroner’s Office has requested all medical records from the 3 institutions that handled Krissi’s case, in the hope that they might point to the cause of death.

The results of the autopsy seem to indicate that Nick could walk free. However, when Krissi was hospitalized, she was sporting injuries on the face not consistent with the way she’d been found, which made Gordon into the prime suspect.
