You might soon be able to see what’s inside the iPhone

Everyone expects the 2017 iPhone to be a completely overhaul of the existing generation given the fact that Apple celebrates the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and now a new rumor points to some pretty big changes that nobody could ever imagine.

Robert Scoble, who has a good track on Apple reports, says on Facebook via unknown sources that the next iPhone will be made of “a clear piece of glass,” making it entirely transparent, so you’ll be able to see what’s inside.

Furthermore, the device will use “a next-generation OLED screen,” a thing that we’ve already heard before, and will work with a headset with eye sensors that “enables the next iPhone to have a higher apparent frame rate and polygon count than a PC with an NVIDIA 1080 card in it.”

Without a doubt, this sounds pretty exciting for Apple fans across the world and it’s not even over yet. The new iPhone model will also support holograms in a way similar to the Microsoft HoloLens, and the eye sensors integrated into the headset will provide access to a completely new interface that Apple is already working on behind closed doors.

Furthermore, Scoble says that Apple is paying particular attention to the 3D sensor from Primesense (a company acquired by Apple), and approximately 600 Israeli engineers are already working on this product exclusively to make sure that everything works just like it’s supposed to.

Keeping our feet on the ground

And now, the icing on the cake. The “battery and antennas will be hidden around the edges of the screen, which explains how Apple will fit in some of the pieces even while most of the chips that make up a phone are in a pack/strip at the bottom of the phone.”

Previous reports have pointed to changes that were indeed substantial, but not as dramatic as the ones indicated by today’s speculation. For example, the 2017 iPhone was supposed to come with a no-bezel OLED display, with all front-facing parts integrated into the screen, including here the Home button.

When it comes to these two reports, this new one is certainly more exciting, but has smaller chances to be real, especially because it points to upgrades that Apple is unlikely to do. Transparent glass to see what’s inside? We’re not there yet. Battery hidden around the edges of the screen? Sure, if you want to recharge your iPhone every hour.

So in the end, take this as pure speculation and nothing more, and expect more information on the next iPhone to surface in the coming months, including more upgrades that you didn’t even imagine.
