Microsoft has just rolled out new Windows 10 ISOs that allow insiders to clean-install the operating system and jump straight to the latest version of RS2 without the need for updating their computers via Windows Update.

The new ISOs are for build 14986, and using them to install Windows 10 on a computer enrolled in the Windows Insider program brings it fully up to date - Windows 10 build 14986 is the latest released by Microsoft and is currently available for both the Fast and the Slow rings.

You can choose between 5 different ISOs, including the core version, Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Home Single Language, Windows 10 Education, and Windows 10 Home China. All are available in both x86 and x64 versions.

No new builds until early January

These new ISOs are particularly important for insiders because Microsoft won’t release new Windows 10 builds before the end of the year, with the Insider program to be relaunched in early 2017.

Microsoft is expected to complete development of new features supposed to be part of the final Redstone 2 (Creators Update) release by the end of January, and then focus exclusively on bug fixing and performance improvements.

According to information that’s yet to be confirmed, Windows 10 Creators Update could land as version 1703, and this is a sign that Microsoft’s target launch for its release is March. If this is the case, insiders should start getting preview builds of Windows 10 Redstone 3 shortly after that, as Microsoft is reportedly already working on preparing the groundwork for the third major update for Windows 10.

While the Creators Update is due in the spring, Windows 10 Redstone 3 should see daylight in the fall of next year, which means that 2017 is expected to bring us two large OS updates. Of course, it’s too early to discuss features for Redstone 3, but we’re only a few months away from the start of development, and more information should emerge soon.
