Microsoft is expected to launch a new Windows 10 build as soon as today, as the company originally planned to ship it on Tuesday but decided to postpone the release at the last minute due to unnamed update issues.

Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, explained in a couple of tweets that Microsoft wanted to roll out a new build on Tuesday, but the target is now Wednesday after the Windows team discovered issues in internal builds.

“#WindowsInsiders we wanted to release a bld today, but we are seeing a few n-1 update issues in morning Flightops. We will keep looking at selfhost & testing data to ensure smooth update and will hopefully flight tomorrow (Wed),” Dona announced.

Windows 10 Creators Update RTM coming this month?

Even though a new Windows 10 build is just around the corner, do not expect any major changes from the previous version, as development of the Creators Update has reached the last stage and no new features are being developed.

The full focus is on bug fixing and this is why Microsoft rolled out two different builds only last week, as they both included fixes and improvements without any substantial changes.

This is what’s expected to happen until the release of the Creators Update too, with sources close to the matter saying that April is very likely to be the month when Microsoft pushes this new OS version to retail users.

Additionally, it’s expected that the final RTM build could be compiled in late March, and insiders will be the first to get it as version 1703, which is a direct reference to its compiling date.

These target dates are yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, but work on Windows 10 Creators Update advances at a fast pace and the company is now giving it the finishing touches. For what it’s worth, only PCs are likely to get the Creators Update in April, while phones could receive the update at a later time.
