The Vivaldi developers have recently been happy to announce that a new snapshot release, version 1.0.228.3, is available for download and testing, introducing new attractive features, such as a new mode that has no user interface at all.

According to the release notes, Vivaldi Snapshot 1.0.228.3 follows in the footsteps of the TP4 (Tech Preview 4) version, announced earlier this week, and brings optimized keyboard navigation, which includes quick commands and numerous editable keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures, as well as lots of under-the-hood improvements.

"Following the release of TP4 we are back to adding new features. Today we have a particularly interesting one for those that want to make better use of your screen real estate," says Ruarí Ødegaard. "We have a new mode with no user interface at all! Use Ctrl+F11 or ⌘F11 (on a Mac) to try it out. We also we have a bunch more bug fixes!"

An introduction to the new chromeless UI

The new chromeless user interface mode is accessible to anyone in the Vivaldi Snapshot 1.0.228.3 release through the Ctrl+F11 keyboard shortcut on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems, or by using the ⌘F11 key binding on Mac OS X, and it's targeted at power users who do not need the graphical user interface of the web browser and require more space for surfing the Internet.

It has been designed from the offset to support multiple websites side by side, allowing users to resize or move the main Vivaldi window, as well as to use it when they want to have zero distractions during their online session. Those of you who want to take the new release for a test drive can download Vivaldi Snapshot 1.0.228.3 for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows right now from Softpedia.
