Super Mario is surely one of the most popular games ever created, and it seems that a version of it will come to mobile phones. Nintendo announced that Super Mario Run would become available on iOS in time for the holidays while a version for Android would also arrive soon, according to Kotaku.

Shigeru Miyamoto, Chief Game Designer at Nintendo and the creator of Super Mario, took the stage to show some features in the upcoming game. He said that the new game would arrive on iOS first and added that anyone could pick it up and instantly start playing.

A set of stickers will also be released for iMessage

The game will consist of the character running automatically while collecting points and eliminating enemies. The character jumps with just a tap anywhere on the screen. The longer users tap, the higher Mario jumps, which is key to getting high scores.

The goal is to collect as many coins and get to the flagpole at the end before the time runs out. For the very first time, the game can be played one-handedly, which will surely make it instantly popular among users. There's also a brand new way to play, as the new battle mode allows users to choose opponents to beat their high score. Players can compete against others from around the world.

The game will be released at a set price. A set of Super Mario stickers will also be offered for iMessage, on the same day of the Super Mario Run debut.
