14 DAY TRIAL // Sony has just started to roll out a new firmware update for the Xperia X Concept program. The new build 38.3.1.A.0.32C brings Glove mode and improved audio functionality with LDAC support, according to Xperia Blog.
Sony's new build adds support for LDAC, which is the company’s technology that allows users to enjoy high-resolution audio content over a Bluetooth connection. The feature allows users to select three kinds of transmission rates, quality priority mode, normal mode and connection priority mode, to make sure that audio transmission functions properly.
In addition, the update brings Glove mode, which, as the name suggests, allows users to perform various tasks on their phones even if they’re wearing gloves. The mode allows Xperia X Concept owners to swipe and tap their phone’s screen even if they’re wearing gloves. The new Gloves mode is accessible from the shortcuts screen.
A new version of the camera and performance improvements
Aside from LDAC support and Glove mode, the update also brings Google’s security patches for February 2017 and a new version of the camera, which has more options in the manual mode. Memory performance improvements are also included in the update, which allow the phone to better handle its resources when performing tasks that take up lots of memory.
In the release description, Sony announced that it encountered some problems with VoLTE support on German operators, and decided to temporarily disable VoLTE in this release. Most likely, a permanent fix will be provided in the next version. The update weighs in at 115.5MB and users who wish to discuss the new changes can access Sony’s web page of the Concept program.
The previous Sony Xperia X Concept update brought ambient display option and a number of bug fixes. The Ambient display option allows users to set their smartphone screen’s to wake up every time they receive a notification.
