It riddles out a multitude of other bugs and errors

Slack Technologies Inc. have just launched an update for their OS X team collaboration application designed to fix a handful of bugs that made their client unusable at times and prone to various errors.

The most important news of today's 1.1.4 release is the fix for a nasty bug which would instantly corrupt the app's cache files each time Slack experienced an unexpected restart or shutdown while it was running on your Mac.

Moreover, this new Slack version also comes with a bug fix that should prevent future issues when signing in into a team account that had a zero expiration time. In the past, when you'd join in, you'd be welcomed with a completely blank and white colored window.

Additionally, in Slack 1.1.4 for OS X a bug that would cause an erroneous zipper issue has also been mended, which means that from now on you will no longer have to expand gzip compressed archives manually. The new update takes care of this for you by automatically opening all gzip files that have finished downloading.

The fourth issue fix is related to the gzip bug, and it would have made the Slack client display downloads with greater than 100% completion rates. Slack 1.1.4 makes sure that all download instances shown are displayed correctly allowing you to get back to being productive instead of hunting down bugs in your favorite team collaboration app.

The 1.1.4 Slack update also adds a new feature: opening files from the download list

To end the list of changes, the latest Slack release also adds a new feature designed to make it simpler to open the files you've downloaded using the default app associated with that file format with a simple click. To do that, you have to hold down the ⇧ (SHIFT) key on your Mac's keyboard and click the file entry in Slack's download list.

You can download Slack 1.1.4 for Mac from our website, and you will be able to run it on your Mac if it runs OS X 10.7 or later, and it comes with a 64-bit processor.

Slack is a free and widely used team collaboration service with clients for both desktop and mobile platforms and designed to keep all your team's members in contact, and one click away at all times.
