Google is working with HTC on the two new Nexus smartphones, Marlin and Sailfish, said to debut at about the same time as Android 7.0 Nougat. Specs and even some features of the upcoming two Nexus smartphones have been leaking for some time now, and they continue to do so.

The latest leaked information shows that Google could introduce a new gesture to open the notification shade using the fingerprint on its new Nexus phones, according to Android Police.

The feature isn't innovative, as it was found on Huawei and Honor smartphones, but it's refreshing to see that Google would implement it on its smartphones. In order to activate the feature, users simply need to swipe down on the scanner, and the notification tray will descend.

The Home Button on Nexus smartphones got redesigned

It's unclear at this point if Google will provide the feature to other Nexus smartphones too, more exactly to 5X and 6P, since they are the only ones with a fingerprint scanner out of all the series.

In addition, it seems that the two Nexus smartphones will come with an Electric Blue color option. As previous rumors suggested, the home button on Nexus Sailfish and Marlin smartphones will have a flower shape, and it will consist of multiple dots that can animate and supposedly be used for calling up Google Assistant. The feature is expected to be implemented on the two upcoming Nexus smartphones, but it's unclear if it will make it to the Nexus 5X and 6P as well.

Aside from the home button, the new Nexus smartphones will also enjoy a new launcher, as per rumors that leaked a few days ago. The launcher comes with a G button that replaces the search bar on the home screen, and it comes with a redesigned app drawer.

The app drawer icon no longer appears on the home screen, and users can slide up from the bottom of the screen to access apps. The APK has leaked online, and it seems to work on rooted and non-rooted devices.
