Jacque Montague Raymer is currently in Hong Kong (lucky him) and has just informed Softpedia about the new features implemented in the upcoming Beta build of his MakuluLinux Aero 10 distribution, which uses the Cinnamon desktop environment with a theme that resembles the look of Windows Vista.

MakuluLinux Aero 10 Beta build 2.3 is not available for download at the moment of writing this article (we will update the article when it's released), but the release notes have been published, along with a bunch of screenshots that we've attached at the end of the article for your viewing pleasure.

According to the release notes, MakuluLinux Aero 10 Beta build 2.3 replaces the GNOME/Cinnamon power management tool with MATE Power Manager, replaces the Opera web browser with Mozilla Firefox, adds a brand-new Login manager that has a corresponding theme, and implements Hard Drive Disk management tools.

Some extra functionality has been added to the File Browser's top panel, along with additional keyboard shortcuts, various functionality for the Btrfs and VMFS file systems has been added, ACPI support for laptops was implemented, several drivers were added, and there's now full support for the Muffin window manager.

Additionally, software like GphotoFS, Photopc, Dconf-Editor have been added, there's also a new font called Droid Font, support for Iomega Zip/Jaz drives is present, it is now possible to check and synchronize TSC clocksource calibration, as well as to check for removable devices during boot, and automatic management of root verification is available via Polkit (formerly PolicyKit).

"I have added so Much functionality to this build that this is by far the best Makulu distro that ever existed, it supports so much more functionality than any previous builds and far more than I have ever seen in any distro anywhere," says Jacque Montague Raymer.

Many annoying issues have been fixed

In addition to the changes mentioned above, the new MakuluLinux Aero 10 Beta build fixes issues with the automatic login functionality, addresses Start Menu size issues, revamps the system taskbar information on the bottom panel, fixes issues with the mouse pointer during manual login, and repairs the automatic mount of removable media.
