Google will be holding an event on October 4 in order to announce two upcoming smartphones created together with HTC. Pixel and Pixel XL have been leaking in many images lately and surely more information will surface until the event.

Pixel leaked over at VentureBeat earlier today, and it seems that the website and Evan Blass have released an image of the Pixel XL as well. The latter smartphone has a similar design to Pixel, but it will come with a larger display and a bigger battery.

The Pixel XL has rounded edges, and the image shows the Pixel Launcher installed on the device. It has rounded icons for all app shortcuts, but does not include an app drawer icon.

This makes the whole design of the launcher smoother, matching the round edges of the phone as well. Another interesting detail is the home button, which keeps its rounded shape but has a small dot inside.

Google Pixel XL will have a 5.5-inch display

Pixel XL is rumored to have a larger display compared to the other upcoming Google smartphone - 5.5 inches with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. In addition, the smartphone is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and was recently spotted on Geekbench running a 1.59GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor, possibly a Snapdragon 820 CPU.

The smartphone could feature a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie snapper. Battery capacity might reach 3450mAh and it will run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

In order to promote the event on October 4, Google unveiled two new statues in Australia. Aside from the one in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Google also unveiled a statue in Melbourne and one in Sydney, according to Google Australia's Twitter account. In addition, the company promotes its upcoming event with a video advertisement and lots of billboards.
