14 DAY TRIAL // With just one day left until the unveiling, leaks regarding the Galaxy S8 and S8+ continue to surface, as more and more images depicting the two phones surface online. The latest shows how the Galaxy S8 compares to the Galaxy S8+ in size.
The standard Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch display, while the larger S8+ will have a 6.2-inch screen, and the same design as the smaller version. The difference between the two phones is that the S8+ has a screen diagonal about half an inch longer than the S8, which could make the phone a bit uncomfortable to some users.
In addition, the new 18:9 aspect ratio would make the phones seem narrower, while the rumored 83% screen-to-body ratio would certainly make the most of the display on both phones. Moreover, the Galaxy S8+ should have an overall size about the same as a 5.7-inch smartphone. It’s still a large smartphone and some users could have trouble reaching the relocated fingerprint scanner on the back.
New Sony IMX333 camera sensor on the new phones
Following the Galaxy S8 major leak over the weekend, few things remain unknown about the new device. But recent reports have pointed to the fact that it could feature a new Sony IMX333 sensor on the rear. Sony’s new sensor has yet to be officially introduced.
The rear camera would also have a 12MP capacity with f/1.7 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus, OIS and 4k recording. The front shooter is expected to feature an 8MP camera with the same aperture and laser autofocus. Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to support new features that would allow the rear camera to record slow-motion videos at 1000 frames per second.
Some of the other specs of the new phones were confirmed in benchmark results. The Snapdragon 835 platform or Exynos 8895 SoC will power the devices that should come with 4GB of RAM capacity.
