Apple working on a fix already, according to some customers

Apple has recently launched the 4-inch iPhone SE, and the first sales figures are quite impressive, as the company is said to be running out of available stocks at several stores in the US.

And although the iPhone SE shows early signs of success, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it works flawlessly. Posts on the company’s support forums reveal that the SE is impacted by a Bluetooth audio issue that makes voice calls and FaceTime quite distorted.

The problems are experienced when using a Bluetooth headset or when connecting the phone to car speakers, with several customers confirming that they are encountered regardless of the vehicle manufacturer. As MacRumors notes, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Ford, Volkswagen, Subaru, Hyundai, and several other makes and models are said to be impacted.

Similar problems with iOS 8

At this point, reports posted by users are rather contradictory, and while some say that Apple has already acknowledged the issues, other claim that Cupertino isn’t aware of the problem.

“The guy from Apple Support just told me on the phone that this is not a well known problem. (seriously) So maybe everyone needs to contact Apple support rather than this forum,” one user posted.

“I have been working with a high level support person who has assured me he is working directly with engineering. Apple has very much become engaged in this issue. They have had me do extensive testing of various conditions in order to document and troubleshoot,” another one posted.

This isn’t the first time when iPhone users are actually experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues, as in October 2014, users who updated to iOS 8 couldn’t connect their phones to car audio systems over Bluetooth. iOS 8.1 update fixed the problem, so Apple is expected to release a similar update in the coming days to address the bug on the iPhone SE as well.
