14 DAY TRIAL // Instagram constantly adds new features for its users and the latest update brings the option to save live videos. The new feature is part of the 10.12 Instagram version for Android and iOS, while the update is already available in the Google Play Store and App Store.
The option to save live videos on Android and iOS appears at the end of a broadcast. The feature can be enabled from the Save option in the upper right corner, when the broadcast ends. Instagram has announced that although live videos will be saved to user accounts, other information will not.
This means that comments, likes and the number of viewers associated to live videos won’t be saved. Saved live videos can be found in the camera roll on your smartphone, so you don’t have to look for them under your Instagram account.
Instagram is preparing a number of new features and improvements
Instagram encourages users to provide feedback on the new feature, while other improvements are prepared for live videos this year. Sadly, the company didn’t reveal what new tools will arrive in upcoming versions, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Live videos has become a central feature for many smartphone apps, Facebook and YouTube offer options for users to live broadcast to their friends and followers.
Recently, Instagram introduced a bunch of geostickers in its Stories section, but the feature was made available only to users based in New York City and Jakarta. Surely, it will arrive to other cities as well, as the feature expands and new stickers are added.
Users from the two cities can pick from more than a dozen new stickers as they appear at the top of the screen when they tap on the sticker icon and after they take a photo or video. Users can add as many stickers as they wish, while they also have the option to mix and match the feature with other creative tools found inside the app.
