14 DAY TRIAL // Ben Williams, Fedora Ambassador and founder of the Fedora Unity Project, is announcing the availability of a new set of updated Fedora 25 Linux Live ISO images.
Packed with all the latest software updates and security patches released through the official repositories of the operating system during the last couple of weeks, the new Fedora 25 ISO respins created by Mr. Williams use a recent kernel version from the Linux 4.9 series, namely Linux 4.9.4.
The new ISOs can be downloaded from the usual location. They are tagged as build F25-20170120, which means they include all the package updates released for Fedora 25 Linux until January 20, 2017. Included are updated Fedora 25 Workstation (with the GNOME desktop environment), Fedora 25 KDE, and Fedora 25 Xfce spins.
Of course, the Fedora 25 Cinnamon, Fedora 25 MATE, Fedora 25 LXDE, and Fedora 25 SoaS (Sugar on a Stick) spins, as well as that 10GB DVD image containing only source packages could not have been missed. All of them have been created using the recently introduced Livemedia Creator tool.
Upcoming Fedora 25 Live ISO respins will offer even kernel releases
These appear to be the last Fedora ISO respins shipping without even kernel releases, as Ben Williams informs the Fedora Linux community that from now on he'll only publish updated live images on even kernel releases, which will come in handy to those who wish to deploy Fedora 25 on new computers.
Thanks to Ben Williams and his awesome contributions to bring us up-to-date Fedora ISO respin images, you'll be able to save up to 675MB of updates, which you would normally download after installing the Fedora 25 Workstation operating system on a new PC. With these updated ISOs, there's no need to download so many updates.
