The whole world is waiting for Apple to take the wraps off the new iPhone 7 on Wednesday, but users in the Windows Phone community have a different thing to be excited about this month.

WhartonBrooks, one of the companies that announced plans for a Windows 10 Mobile device, is holding an event this week, when it plans to share more information on its new phone, with some people expecting it to even show the device or at least tease it.

An announcement posted on its official Facebook page reveals that the event will take place in a Microsoft store, and this makes loyal Windows Phone fans believe that a new device could thus be unveiled ahead of sales that could start later this month. For the moment, nothing is confirmed so far, but the company will certainly share more details about its new phone as part of the event.

“We are hosting a meet & greet event at the Microsoft Store in WestFarms Mall in CT on September 10th at 11AM. Join us to learn more about our plans for Windows phone,” the Facebook post reads.

Although it was announced earlier this year, little is known about this new phone, as the company is keeping everything secret ahead of the public launch.

It turns out, however, that WhartonBrooks originally wanted only to develop Windows 10 Mobile apps, but thanks to the interest in the platform, the company decided to invest in a phone that could launch as soon as this month.

Company officials have previously hinted that the phone could come with features appropriate for both PCs and smartphones, and this is likely confirmation that it’ll support Continuum. A kickstand could also be offered to make it possible to be used as a PC, while the camera will provide some of the best shots currently available in the Window 10 Mobile ecosystem.

While WhartonBrooks might not be a large phone company that has always built phones, it’s still good for the future of Windows 10 Mobile to see more firms interested in the platform, especially because Microsoft itself has reduced the focus on the phone business for a while. Microsoft is likely to make Windows 10 Mobile a priority once again next year with the Redstone 2 update, when it’s also expected to take the wraps off the Surface Phone.
