Instagram is not the place for this type of jokes

People feel like they can say a lot of stuff on social media, mostly because of the relative anonymity afforded here, but every once in a while, what you deem an innocent joke can come back at you and bite you in the you-know-what.

It can also cost you your job, as an extra on the set of the comedy “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” found out, the hard way.

The extra posted a photo of a bag of weed on Instagram, with the caption, “Thanks for the weed Zac Efron! BTW, it’s only a prop people,” TMZ reports.

The whole thing was obviously meant as a joke, more easily understood by those who have seen the first film, which came out in 2014. In it, Zac Efron plays a college stud, leader of a frat house, whose biggest hobby is smoking weed and getting drunk.

However, the real-life Zac Efron has had some problems with drug and alcohol abuse, and even went to rehab in 2013, ironically after he completed production on the first “Neighbors” film.

So no wonder the producers thought the comment from the extra was in very bad taste - not to mention very unprofessional. Needless to say, the guy got fired, and TMZ reports that this isn’t the first time this happens.

Efron was not involved in the decision.
