The development team at Naughty Dog and publisher Sony surprised a lot of players when they revealed that they were planning to deliver a single-player focused downloadable content pack for the coming Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

The Uncharted Triple Pack will basically be a season pass that allows gamers to access one DLC that will expand the narrative and two that will focus on the multiplayer side of the series.

At the moment, it can only be obtained by ordering the Collector's or the Special Edition for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Apparently, the reason single-player DLC is being created, which is something entirely new for the series, is the success of Left Behind for The Last of Us, which was very well received by the fan community.

Arne Meyer, who is working on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, is quoted by Gamespot as stating, "It worked really well for us for The Last of Us. “We thought we could put together a really great piece of content as well.”

At the moment, the developers are not ready to say what kind of experience they plan to introduce in the DLC for the action title and whether they will focus on Nathan Drake once more or they plan to switch characters.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will wrap up the story of the franchise

Naughty Dog says this will be the final title that will use the mythology created around Nathan Drake and his friends.

Gamers will explore a story centered around him meeting with a long-lost brother, Sam, who is interested in finding a famous but hidden pirate colony rumored to be filled with loot.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will tackle a lot of mature themes, although the development team says that the classic humor of the series will not disappear from the dialog.

The story of Nathan Drake will be centered on a sacrifice and on how far he is willing to push himself in order to make sure that the people he cares about stay safe in the long term.

The demo that Naughty Dog has shown is pretty impressive, with clear improvements to both combat and driving.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be out on March 18 of next year on the PlayStation 4.
