Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is one of the most awaited titles that will be launched on the PlayStation 4 in the coming year, and the development team at Naughty Dog is eager to make sure that the fan community understands the reasons the experience has been delayed by a few months.

Initially, the title was supposed to arrive this fall, but the studio says that it has decided to push it back in order to make sure that it would deliver a game that would meet the expectations of those who have played the first three installments.

Neil Druckmann, the game director working on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, is quoted by Games Radar as saying that Naughty Dog is experiencing some feelings of guilt about the delay, but it would have been even worse to deliver a game that was not up to par.

Druckmann wants gamers to know that the ending of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is designed to deliver an incredible moment that will show what the series is capable of on the PlayStation 4.

He states, "Even when I’m describing the ending, it’s a pretty... Well, I guess this is a little bit of a spoil... Nah, I’m not going to say it! But there is something that happens that requires quite a bit of work for what we want it to do, and again we would have had to reduce that scope and reduce that ambition to meet that deadline."

Uncharted 4 focuses on relationships and emotions

The studio needs a little more time because some aspects of the game were only clear once a lot of work was already done on the single-player story and its most important moments.

This is especially important for a title that focuses on the single-player narrative and the way the various characters interact with each other.

For Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Nathan Drake is aiming to get away from his career but is forced to make a comeback when Sam, his supposedly dead brother, makes an appearance and asks him to find a treasure that pirates have hidden away.

Naughty Dog says that the events of the game will test the most important relationships in the character's life and will show how far he is willing to go to protect his friends.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be out on March 18 of next year and will also be offered on the PlayStation 4.
