Wireless carrier T-Mobile is nearing the release of the first smartphone that would boast support for its newly deployed HSPA+ network. The company announced officially a while ago that it plans on making the move, and it even put in place a teaser website for the device, touting its near release date, but without offering specific details on what the smartphone is all about, nor on its exact arrival day.

However, a wide range of rumors on the matter surfaced during the past few weeks, culminating with the emergence of the photo attached to this article, which is said to show a device called myTouch 3G HD, which would be nothing else than the HSPA+ smartphone T-Mobile is preparing for launch. The photo emerged in a recent post at Android Central, which claims that the handset would indeed resemble that covered handset shape T-Mobile displayed on the aforementioned teaser site.

If the photo is legit, it indeed shows that T-Mobile plans on including the first HSPA+ smartphone in its myTouch 3G family. The Genius button present on the new myTouch 3G slide is there, along with the familiar physical buttons for home, menu and back, not to mention the trackpad. The handset has all the visual elements other members of the myTouch family include, though it might prove to be nothing more than an enthusiast's rendering.

As the the other rumors on this HSPA+ smartphone, we can count the fact that it would land on the market running under Google's Android operating system, or that it might sport a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The phone was rumored to sport the codename of HTC Vision, or the Vanguard, and some even said that it might land as the G1 Blaze. However, none of these was confirmed for the time being, and chances are that the device would indeed arrive with the name of myTouch 3G HD attached to it, just as the new report claims. Keep an eye on this space for more details on the matter.
