14 DAY TRIAL // The developers of the MPV open-source video player software for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems have announced the release of version 0.11.0, which fixes bugs and adds improvements to the MPlayer-based software.
According to the release notes (attached at the end of the article for reference), MPV 0.11.0 is here to implement debanding for vo_opengl, which now requires FBOs by default. Also, debanding has been enabled by default for the opengl-hq preset.
A new sample format determination code is used for audio out, the "force-window=immediate" command will now work in auto-profiles, and the logical current directory path is now preferred, which will affect the resuming of playback.
Several new options and commands have been added in this release, such as the normalize, deband, deband-range, deband-threshold, deband-grain, and deband-iterations suboptions, along with the implementation of the af-metadata property.
Furthermore, the "add 0" command will no longer change the value, and the source-shader suboption has been removed. Talking about removed things, MPV 0.11.0 removes numerous audio and video filters, including sinesuppress, karaoke, extrastereo, ladspa, bs2b, hrtf, surround, sweep, and some lavfi wrappers.

Of course, there's no release of software without some bug fixes. As such, we can mention that MPV 0.11.0 fixes the --no-config option, revamps the audio format conversion scoring, repairs the interleaved vs. non-interleaved audio conversions, and adds a workaround for the Libav compatibility.
Moreover, the backbuffer size will no longer be included in the total stream cache size, the --field-dominance option can now set the interlaced flag, vapoursynth can now be disabled completely, multiple windows are now allowed on the Windows platform, and the libavfilter library is required for compiling vf_stereo3d.
Last but not least, MPV 0.11.0 adds the Opus codec to the list of supported external audio file extensions and implements the float over double sample format in interleaved to float audio conversions.
