The Graphite font shaping library has been disabled

Today, March 17, 2016, Mozilla unveiled the first point release of the recently announced Firefox 45.0 web browser for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

We were the first to report the availability to download of the Mozilla Firefox 45.0 web browser last week, on March 8, 2016, a release that, unfortunately, failed (once again) to bring the GTK3 integration for the Linux platform.

Mozilla Firefox 45.0 didn't introduce any major features, nor general changes, but it looks like it introduced a couple of regressions, and there were some issues left out, which apparently have been fixed in today's Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 release.

According to the changelog, a regression in Firefox 45.0 caused the search engine settings to be lost under certain conditions; this has been fixed now. The second regression was related to the use of the location bar and has also been patched.

Firefox 45.0.1 brings back non-standard JAR

Another interesting change introduced by Mozilla devs in the Firefox 45.0.1 release is the re-implementation of non-standard JAR to fix a regression in the IBM iNotes web-based email client related to URIs. Also, it looks like the first point release of Firefox 45.0 disables the Graphite font shaping library.

Among other changes, we can mention that the XSLTProcessor.importStylesheet component has been updated to no longer fail when using < import >, the list of search providers will no longer appear empty, and various loading issues related to accepting third-party cookies were resolved.

Below, we've attached the entire release notes of the Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 web browser if you are curious to know what exactly has been changed, and we recommend all of you to update as soon as possible. You can download Mozilla Firefox 45.0 for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows right now from Softpedia.
