We reported the other day that Mozilla started seeding the final build of its latest stable Firefox 43.0 web browser for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X.

Just a few moments ago, December 15, Mozilla officially announced the release of the Firefox 43.0 web browser with the same set of features reported by us in yesterday's article, but without the long-anticipated integration of the GTK+ 3 GUI toolkit for Linux kernel-based operating systems.

Mozilla's Karl Tomlinson explains in a bug report that the GTK3 port of the web browser is not mature enough for production use, so they will have to delay it, again, for the next major version of the web browser, Mozilla Firefox 44.0, due for release on January 26, 2016.

"Although the GTK3 port is ready to ship, the update experience will be poor for users without GTK3 installed. We don't know what proportion of users that would be. Reverting to GTK2 for 43 beta and maybe 44 beta also would give some time to sort out bugs," said Karl Tomlinson of Mozilla.

Therefore, users of Linux kernel-based operating systems will have to wait until after the winter holidays for a GTK3 version of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. Until then, you can download Mozilla Firefox 43.0 right now from Softpedia or update it in your distribution via the official software repositories. It is already available in Arch Linux!
