Motorola unveiled three new Moto X series smartphones back in July, but they are not yet available worldwide. However, starting this week, the company is making the Moto X Play available on the Indian market, where it will be made available exclusively through major retailer Flipkart.

It’s also worth mentioning that customers in India will be able to purchase the dual-SIM version of the Moto X Play rather than the single-SIM model, which will be offered to the rest of the world.

The US-based smartphone maker is selling the 16GB variant of the phone in India for Rs. 18,449 / $278 / €245, while the 32GB variant can be yours for Rs. 19,999 / $301 / €265.

If you have missed our earlier scoop concerning the device, we’ll take a moment to remind you that the Moto X Play comes equipped with a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels) and 403ppi pixel density. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The camera is the strong point of the Moto X Play

The smartphone is kept alive by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 chipset in combination with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. What makes the Moto X truly special is the presence of the 21MP rear camera that arrives with f/2.0 aperture and CCT (Color Correlated Temperature) flash with dual-LED modules.

The main snapper also features Phase Detect Auto-Focus (PDAF) and can record 1080p HD video at 30fps. Other features include tap anywhere to capture, slow motion video support, video stabilization, 4x digital zoom, burst mode, night mode, auto HDR, Panorama and drag to focus and exposure. There’s also a 5MP front-facing camera on board the device.

Motorola is offering the new handset in Black with Black back and White with winter White back variations. The company also has available a bunch of launch offers for those willing to jump on board with the Moto X Play right now.

These include 100% cashback for 100 customers using Flipkart Ping. Buyers will also be awarded a Flipkart e-gift voucher worth Rs. 1,000 / $15 / €13, plus a free movie voucher worth Rs. 500 / $7 / €6.

MakeMyTrip is also throwing in a couple of vouchers and Rs. 1,000 / $15 / €13 cashback on domestic flight bookings via the mobile app. Last but not least, there’s also a holiday package to Bangkok or Goa for two customers thrown into the mix.
