Great news for Motorola fans, as the next couple of months will probably belong to the US handset maker. Even though it’s one of the few companies that have yet to release any new smartphones this year, the latest rumors claim this is about to change.

Although not this month, Motorola is expected to unveil at least two new Android smartphones in May, which will probably be available for purchase in June/July.

We reported over the weekend about the upcoming Moto G4 Plus and Moto G 4th Generation (or Moto G 2016), and now we have the first photos of one of the company’s mid-range handsets.

A few pictures of the Moto G (2016) have just been published by French blog Nowhereelse.fr. The live photos have been posted on China’s Weibo social network and look legit.

Little is known about the smartphone’s hardware configuration, but the pictures confirm the Moto G (2016) will come with a physical Home button of square shape, which will probably hide a fingerprint scanner.

Rumor has it that the device will include a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, along with 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. As the French blog suggests, the Moto G (2016)’s camera looks similar to the Korean version of LG G5.

The 16-megapixel camera could be the handset’s main strong point

The only difference is that it features a vertical setup. If the information proves to be accurate, then we could be looking at a 16-megapixel photo snapper with f/1.8 aperture and 28mm focal length.

Aside from that, Motorola Moto G (2016) is also said to pack 16GB of internal memory, but the smartphone might include microSD card slot for memory expansion as well.

Last but least, both Moto G (2016) and Moto G4 Plus are likely to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.

There’s no word on price yet, but considering the previous model was launched for £160, the Moto G (2016) should be slightly more expensive since it packs much better specs.
