Motorola is hosting today media events in select locations across the world, during which we expect the company to unveil its 2015 smartphone lineup.

The “MyMotoBFF” event is already underway in New Delhi, ahead of launches in London, New York and Sao Paulo, so we can already tell you the US-based device maker has already unleashed the third-gen Moto G in India (as reported by NDTV).

The 2015 iteration of the Moto G arrives with a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution plus Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Under the hood, Motorola utilizes the services of a Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU. The powerhouse works hand in hand with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot).

Motorola will also be offering a version with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On the imaging front, we find that the phone dons a 13MP main camera with dual-tone LED flash, IR filter, f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. The selfie-centric camera is of the 5MP variety with 72-degree wide viewing angle.

The phone is IPX7 rated for water resistance (can be submerged in 3ft of water for 30 minutes) and also offers 4G LTE / 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual SIM. The new Moto G is kept alive by a 2,470 mAh battery.

The Moto G (2015) will be available later tonight

The device ships out with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, so you’ll be off the hook with updates for the time being. But given Motorola’s track record, once Android M is out, the company won’t take long before it pushes the update to the Moto G (2015).

The Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) will ship out in Black and White colors and will sell for approximately $188 / €170 with 8GB of internal storage and for $203 / €184 with 16GB. Motorola will make the device available through Flipkart starting tonight.

What’s more, the phone comes with a range of offers for those of you who pick it up before August 2:

- 33% off on total bill value on Myntra;

- Flipkart fashion e-gift voucher of INR 500 with a minimum purchase of Rs. 1000;

- 100% cashback to 100 lucky customers;

- 100 lucky customers to get the Moto 360 watch at Re. 1;
