If recent leaks are to be believed, Motorola is preparing to announce the new Moto Z2 Play in just a couple of days, on June 1. However, the Z2 Play won’t be the only smartphone to arrive in the Moto Z series this year. A newly leaked batch of images shows the Moto Z2 from all angles.

The upcoming Moto Z2 will be the successor to last year’s Moto Z, which was announced over the summer, together with the Moto Z2 Force. The images revealing Moto Z2’s design were posted by SlashLeaks and they show an unreleased smartphone with a dual-camera setup.

As previous leaks revealed, Motorola intends to change the design of the dual-lens setup on the back of the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force, and feature a sleeker but still circular camera system. Moving on, the pictures also show a USB Type-C port on the upcoming phone, together with some other details.

No 3.5mm headphone jack in sight

It’s worth mentioning that the pictures reveal the Moto Z2 inside a case, which is why connector pins for the Moto Mods aren’t visible on the back. The phone is expected to have the same overall size as the Moto Z, to ensure compatibility with Moto Mods released last year.

Other than that, the Moto Z2 will come with rounded corners, but the 3.5mm headphone jack isn’t visible. Last year, Motorola decided to ditch the 3.5mm jack on its Moto Z smartphones and it seems that the jack won’t be returning in this year’s iterations.

Not much information is known about the specs inside the Moto Z2, aside from the fact that it will probably feature the latest components, including Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 platform and perhaps 4GB of RAM. Together with the Moto Z2, Motorola will also announce the Moto Z2 Force, which will come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD ShatterShield display, among other specs. The two phones could be announced on June 8.
