Motorola’s division in Germany has announced that all smartphones in the Moto Z line will start getting the Android Nougat update. The division took to Twitter to make the announcement and although the mobile OS version wasn’t specified, it’s most likely Android 7.0.

Moto Z, Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play smartphones in Germany will start getting 7.0 Nougat updates over the coming days. The version of Android was already released in multiple European countries at the start of this month.

A few days ago, we reported that Motorola started testing the Android 7.0 Nougat software update for the Moto Z Play, so it’s not surprising that the other phones in the series already started getting it.

Moto Z Play was officially launched at a later date compared to Moto Z and Moto Z Force, which is why the smartphone will get the update later. German users of Moto Z smartphones can trigger the updating process manually by accessing the phone’s Settings section or they can wait for the update notification to reach their phones.

7.0 Nougat brings improved performance and battery life

Motorola has managed to provide its users with relatively timely 7.0 Nougat updates, considering that some OEMs have had to halt the update distribution process due to some unforeseen issues.

Android 7.0 Nougat will be bringing many useful features to Moto Z, Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play smartphones. Most notably, the update would include improvements when it comes to device performance, lower battery consumption due to new features in the Doze mode, as well as numerous redesigned user interface elements.

The Notification area was redesigned and users will now be able to take advantage of the quick reply feature. Moreover, 7.0 Nougat brings multi-window support that allows users to run two applications simultaneously in split-screen mode. It also includes improvements in the Recent Apps screen which will now display full-size cards for running apps.
