Lenovo and Google are pretty close partners in the smartphone market, as illustrated by the fact that Lenovo included the highly advanced Project Tango technology on its Phab2 Pro, the first smartphone to receive the platform. As it turns out, Google is offering Moto Z owners two years of free original quality storage in Google Photos.

Lenovo unveiled the Moto Z and Moto Z Force yesterday, and as if the smartphones weren’t appealing enough already, Google’s offer has made them even more attractive. Google will be providing free storage in Google Photos to all Moto Z owners. This would allow them to back up and store their images and videos in original quality in Google Photos, all for free.

However, there’s a catch. This is a promotional offer, so users would need to redeem it by March 31, 2017, and the two years start when users back up the first image or video in original quality.

Both smartphones come with powerful rear cameras

Nevertheless, it’s a much-needed offer, considering that the Moto Z Force comes with a 21MP rear camera that can snap some very detailed images, since it has an f/1.8 aperture, OIS, laser autofocus, phase detection, and flash with dual LEDs.

The rear camera has the capacity to capture 4k and slow-motion videos. Then, the front camera reaches 5MP on the device, together with f/2.2 aperture and wide angle lens.

Moto Z comes with a 13MP rear camera, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, laser autofocus, and 4K video support as well. The front camera has the same specifications as the Moto Z Force, with 5MP and f/2.2 aperture.

Google implemented a similar feature recently, when it provided free unlimited storage to Nexus devices, all in the context of celebrating one year of Google Photos.
